Testing Certificates

AspTear 1.2 comes with a demonstration ASP file cc.asp (ClientCertificate.xls can be used to tear this page) that you can install on your web server for test purposes. To set up your web server for test purposes, you have to perform the following steps:

1. Install a server certificate (you can get a test certificate from Verisign, http://www.verisign.com/). For installation, please see the IIS documentation
2. Open the Properties dialog box for the Web site in question, and switch to the Directory Security tab.
3. Click the Edit button for the Secure Communications frame.
4. Make sure to require a secure channel, and to either accept or require client certificates. You can also make mappings, however, this is not a requirement. Client Certificates are presented ONLY when SSL is used.
